“Celebrate Life” and “Parent Partners,” grief support programs of Laughlin Health Care Foundation, will begin Thursday, February 2, and continue each Tuesday and Thursday for a total of eight, one-hour sessions, ending on Tuesday, February 28.
The general grief support group session will begin at 5:30 p.m. The parents’ grief-support-group session will begin at 7:00 p.m. Both will meet in the Laughlin Memorial Hospital private dining room on the first floor, beside the hospital cafeteria. The groups are conducted in partnership with Joyce Daniels, MA, grief specialist.
Daniels earned a master of arts from East Tennessee State University and has over 19 years of experience in the grief-counseling field.
The meetings are free and open to those 18 years of age and older who are struggling with the death of a loved one. The program offers education, support, and encouragement for adults to explore their grief.
Both support sessions are community-benefit programs from Laughlin Memorial Hospital. The “Celebrate Life” program is funded through the Gary Gregory Memorial Fund and the "Parent Partners" program is funded by the Dr. Haskell and Louise J. McCollum Memorial Fund and by gifts from Dr. Linda L. McCollum.
Participants are asked to register with the Foundation office at 787.5117 or to call the same number, if additional information is desired.
