April News Release - 'Derby Day on Main' is Almost Here

Hat makers Sandi Moore and Sheri Upp, and designer Carol Brown, assisted Derby Day on Main goers to create stunning hats for the exciting May 6th event at the recent hat making workshop at Brown’s Town and Country Event Rentals and Carol’s Florist.

Beautiful hats and fascinators were adorned with material and accessories that are sure to wow the crowd at the upcoming Derby Day on Main, presented by Laughlin Health Care Foundation, on May 6, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on the terrace of General Morgan Inn.

Derby Day on Main features the running of the famed Kentucky Derby, live on a spacious, 10 foot screen, as well as Derby Day fare of heavy hors d’oeuvres, music from the Tusculum College Jazz Band, dancing, and Mint Juleps and other spirits.  Additionally, a Derby Day contest for best hat, best dressed women, best dressed man, and best dressed couple.  Plus, complimentary photos of the day and other fun activities.

This fundraiser benefits “Feeding the Children of Greeneville and Greene County” and has been a sold out event in advance of the date in previous years.  Please visit our event website at www.derbydayonmain.com for more information about the event and “Feeding the Children of Greeneville and Greene County.

For tickets, please call the Laughlin Health Care Foundation office at 787-5117.  If you cannot attend, but would like to donate to “Feeding the Children of Greeneville and Greene County, please text the word FEED to 243-725 and make a donation, or, call the Foundation at 787-5117.  The extra dollars raised through your texting effort will add value to the fundraising event and will enable the program to include four additional schools, which will provide food during summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas recesses for all schools in Greeneville and Greene County.
