July News - Passport 55 presents “Hospital Emergency Department Registration Accuracy – Why Is It So Important?”

NEWS RELEASE  -  July 10, 2017  -  Contact:  Betty S. Weemes ... 787.5117

Nancy Gaddy, Patient Access Coordinator, and Melissa Britton, R.N., Head Emergency Room Nurse, Laughlin Memorial Hospital, will present a program, “Hospital Emergency Department Registration Accuracy – Why Is It So Important?” at Passport 55 on Thursday, July 20, at 10:00 a.m., at Roby Adult Center, 203 North College Street.

Gaddy and Britton state, “Checking into the hospital emergency department is never fun.  Patients are either struggling to fill out forms because they don’t feel well.  Or, they are simply too sick to register themselves, so they have to depend on a friend or family member to do it for them.  The only trouble is, these individuals many times do not know answers to all the questions.  It’s not uncommon for patients to get frustrated with the whole process.  But, those forms – and how they get filled out – set the tone for the patient’s entire hospital visit.”  Further, Gaddy and Britton, say, that the information that will be presented at the Passport 55 program will provide valuable insights into this important healthcare issue.
